BIoTope, building an IoT open innovation system for connected smart objects

The bIoTope ( project is one of the projects that comprise the IoT European Platform Initiative under the EU Horizon2020 Programme. The bIoTope framework provides an open set of building blocks for developing IoT software components and entire IoT systems for Connected Smart Objects based on open source components. These services are piloted for the moment in 3 EU cities. In Helsinki crow-based network of “electric car charging stations” is operated, in Lyon a sensor-based waste-management system and in Brussels a sensor-based service for parking for disabled persons will be build.
